Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum Inauguration on May, 23
Zhang Yu-Sheng lived at No.22, Lane 2, Xin-Fu Rd. of Duxingshi Village, and the house in which he lived is at the innermost part of the museum. The neighboring buildings of No.20, 18 and 16 were renovated and integrated to be part of the museum to make it spacious enough to accommodate the flow of visitors. To balance between tourism promotion and cultural preservation, the original architecture was preserved without large-scale alteration. The same materials were used for repairs based on the original structure and an open cell ceiling was installed in compliance with the design. The design allows visitors to enter the museum from an alley, starting from Zhang Yu-Sheng’s House at No.22 , proceeding to the neighboring buildings at 20, 18 and 16, and exit the museum from building No.16.
Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum in Duxingshi Village was officially open on May, 23, 2009. His parents, friends and relatives were invited to the opening ceremony.
