Military dependents' community (i.e. Chuan Tsun) preservation and redevelopment milestone

 

2000 12 Penghu Chuan Tsun Youth Love Association was established to promote the preservation of the Chuan Tsun culture.
2004 06 The “Memory of Home-helping old houses survive winter” activity was carried out under the community development project.
2005 08 The Association organized “Taiwan field School-2005 Youth Labor Learning Camp.”
2006 01 Country government agencies cooperated to promote the preservation of Duxingshi Village and establishment of the cultural park project.
  08 The Association organized “Taiwan Field School-2006 Youth Labor Learning Camp”.
  10 Filming of a documentary on Chuan Tsun began.
  12 “Magong Guanyin Temple Surrounding Potential Area Development Plan,” organized by Tourism Bureau began.The project was completed in October next year.
2007 01 A farewell party was held for residents in Jin-Long-Tou Chuan Tsun.
  01 The houses on No.1 and 3 of Xin-Fu Rd. were destroyed in a fire and Cultural Affairs Bureau began urgent repair work.
  02 Economic Affairs Department began urban renewal on Xin-Fu Village and defined Duxingshi Village south of Jie-Shou Rd. the Chuan Tsun Culture Designated Area.
  02 Completion of new apartments for Chuan Tsun residents called “Long-Xing-Xin-Cheng” and a happy house warming party was held.
  04 “Pan An-Bang House Renovation project” organized by Tourism Department began in April and was completed in August the same year.
  07 “Magong Duxingshi Village Japanese Dormitory Survey, Revitalization and Reuse Project Report” by Cultural Affairs Bureau was published.
  07 The county government held an artistic exhibition entitled “Shenyou” in Duxingshi Village.
  11 The county government designated Duxingshi Village as “Penghu Historic Buildings”.
  11 The county government organized the “Chuan Tsun Open Gate Rebuilding the gates” activity in the cultural park.
  12 The statues of “Grandma’s Penghu Bay” were positioned in Pan An-Bang Museum.
  12 The county government organized the “Military Dependent’s Community-Public Space with New Face” activity in the cultural park.
2008 06 Duxingshi Village was designated as the “Chuan Tsun Culture Designated Area” in an urban renewal project.
  08 “Magong Duxingshi Village Buildings and Surrounding Environment Renovation Project” organized by Tourism Departmentbegan in August and was completed in November of the same year.
  10 “Magong Duxingshi Village Vacant spacesand Surrounding Environment Renovation-Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum and Nearby Area”organized by Tourism Department began in October and was completed in February, 2009.
  12 “Magong Duxingshi Village Details Survey, Mapping and Revitalization and Reuse Project Report” by Cultural Affairs Bureau was published.
  12 The county government signed the contract for temporary management with Political Warfare Bureau, Ministry of National Defense.
2009 01 Cultural Park Volunteer Team was established.
  05 “Transformation of Magong Duxingshi Village to Cultural Park Evaluation Report” by Cultural Affairs Bureau was published.
  05 “Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum”, “Pan An-Bang Museum” and “Vision Workshop” were open one by one.
  12 “Duxingshi Village Buildings and Public Facilities Renovation-Xiang-Dong Store, Yu-Sheng Music Bar, Yug-Niang Square and Public Restrooms” organized by Tourism Department began in December and was completed in October, 2010.
  12 “Duxingshi Village Water and Electrical Piping and Pavement work” organized by Tourism Department began in December and was completed in December, 2010.
2010 03 The county government presented the “Duxingshi Village Preservation Plan” to apply for the first evaluation and review of“Old Military Dependents’ communities for preservation” by Ministry of National Defense.
  09 The county government entered the second evaluation and review of “Old Military Dependents’ communities for preservation” by Ministry of National Defense.
  11 “Renovation project of Duxingshi Village Cultural Park-Information Station” organized by Cultural Affairs Bureau began in November and was completed in September, 2012.
  11 “Penghu County Duxingshi Village Restoration” organized by Tourism Department began in November and was completed in March, 2011.
2011 12 “Duxingshi Village Renovation Follow-up Works-Xin Zhuan School (7 buildings) and Penghu Low Carbon Exhibition Hall” organized by Tourism Department began in December and was completed in December, 2012.
2012 03 “Duxingshi Village” was selected as one of the 13 “Old Military Dependents’ communities for preservation.”
2013 04 The county government held “Pan An-Bang Memorial Concert” and the building was renamed “Pan Am-Bang Museum”.
  08 Cultural Affairs Bureau organized the renovation planning and design project of Duxingshi Village (History Gallery, performance center, etc. totaling buildings).
  09 “Filming of an introductory video of Penghu Historic Building-Duxingshi Village” organized by Cultural Affairs Bureau began.
2014 02 Preparations for permanent exhibitions in “Duxingshi Village Cultural Park Information Station” organized by Cultural Affairs Bureaubegan.Grand opening is scheduled in 2015.
  04 Official opening of “Penghu Low Carbon Island Exhibition Hall” .
